Crémant de Savoie: Domaine de L'Idylle Brut
Crémant de Savoie achieved appellation controlée status in December 2015, so we had no hesitation in adding the Tiollier's refreshing fizz to our sparkling range.
Crémant de Savoie, which must contain a minimum of 60% local grapes Jacquère and/or Altesse, became the eight crémant appellation in France at the end of 2015. It joins Alsace, Bourgogne, Bordeaux, Loire, Limoux, Jura and Die.

Domaine de L'Idylle (Phillippe & François Tiollier)
Savoie is an ancient and isolated vine area which deploys idiosyncratic grape varieties (originally introduced by monks from Chartreuse) that are seldom encountered elsewhere – Jacquére and Roussette for white wines and Mondeuse for reds. The Tiollier family has nurtured vines in and around the village of Cruet on the steep slopes of the Isère valley for generations. Situated in the Regional Nature Reserve of the Massif des Baugeas, Philippe and François's vines are spread over 47 acres of prime terroir and their fastidious approach to winemaking has turned Domaine de l'Idylle into a self-sustaining viticultural enterprise. Overgrown and abandoned parcels of vines have been carefully cleared and replanted and state of the art equipment has been installed in the ancient cellars.
