Mâcon-Villages: Closerie des Alisiers 2022
From vines averaging 20 years of age, this lively yet rounded Mâcon-Villages Chardonnay achieves a lovely balance between fresh acidity and a good mineral edge.
Famed Bourgogne négociant Stéphane Brocard's network of growers always comes up trumps – and he's done an excellent job with this competitively-priced white Burgundy. This single-domaine Mâcon-Villages comes from the classic limestone-clay soils of the Mâconnais. Bottled under Stéphane's Closerie des Alisiers label, this wine is vinified in stainless-steel to preserve freshness and the aromatics, its lively citrus acidity, smooth, round texture and supple stone-fruit finish make this ideal with poultry or buttery risottos.

Stéphane Brocard - Closerie des Alisiers
Stéphane Brocard is a branché Chablisien who found his family's wine business becoming crowded when working alongside his brother and sister-in-law and sister and brother-in-law. An intimate knowledge of Burgundy and a hankering to do his own thing led him to set up a boutique négociant business - Closerie des Alisiers - contracting in small parcels of carefully selected grapes, as well as investing in a precious plot of Pommard, for which he has high aspirations.
