Morgon: Arnaud Aucoeur 'Côte du Py' 2020
Arnaud Aucoeur's flagship Morgon is thrilling - drinking well now, its balance ensures that you could also cellar it for a few years.
Game and forest floor notes intermingling with the more primary red fruit flavours and a firm structure of tannins. This Morgon stands up well to grilled red meats and hard cheeses and merits decanting.

Arnaud Aucoeur
Arnaud Aucoeur is an eleventh generation vigneron based in Villié Morgon in the centre of the Beaujolais hills. He and his wife Melanie cultivate 20 hectares of vines in Beaujolais and, although they have parcels of vines in several crus, half their vine-holdings lie within their heartland at Morgon. Arnaud is a pragmatic wine-maker with a strong respect for his family's history and the local terroir. He tries not to intervene too much in the vineyard and his red wines, which account for 95% of production, are all vinified in 50 hectolitre wooden vats to allow for some micro-oxygenation but not to impart any oaky influence.

Morgon: Arnaud Aucoeur 'Côte du Py' - Yapp Brothers One Minute Review
Bianca Ford reviews the 'Côte du Py' Morgon from Arnaud & Melanie Aucoeur - a brilliant wine form the Morgon Cru of Beaujolais. From pure Gamay, it has freshness with a hint of minerality, ruby-red colour and red berry scents on the nose. This Morgon is an ideal food wine - serve with charcuterie or a boeuf bourguignon
