Domaine Gardrat
The family estate of Domaine Gardrat can be found west of the Cognac vineyards, 20 minutes from Roan, Cozes. The property was originally acquired in 1894, and now covers 35 hectares of vines. The first bottling took place in 1977 for Pineau des Charentes, and in 1988 for Vin de Pays Charentais.
"People today know wine, know how to drink and enjoy. They are looking for authentic products." says Lionel Gardrat. It is through the particular care that the family shows its vines, while remaining attentive to consumers that Domaine Gardrat wines are every year rewarded at Concours Général Agricole - they have received nearly forty medals since they began in 1996 to compete in open competition Agricole in Paris.
