Domaine Lombard

In 1972, Jean-Marie Lombard took over family vineyards outside Livron-sur-Drôme and was rewarded when Brézème Côtes-du-Rhône was granted AOC status two years later. It was only in the early 1980s, with the encouragement of winemakers such as Gérard Chave, that Jean-Marie elected to strike out on his own and bottle his own wine, but the results thoroughly justified his decision.

In 2011, on the retirement of Jean-Marie and Sylvette Lombard, the Domaine was bought by Philippe Sapet. Its 23 hectares are now managed by son-in-law, Jonathan Alméras and Philippe's daughter daughter Pauline (a nurse). They are champions for sustainability, organic farming and aim to be certified biodynamic.
