To Durslade Farm in Bruton for the Roth Bar and Grill's inaugural Wine Festival organised by Austrian wine producer Rainer Garger in conjunction with Master Of Wine Anna Krebiehl and Someset's own Wraxall and Oatley vineyards. Twelve different, independent Austrian wine estates have dispatched samples and emissaries providing a one-off opportunity to taste dozens of Austrian wines alongside some great English offerings and our own regional French selection.

Roth Bar & Grill Wine Festival - 2016

Persistent rain didn't dampen the spirits as attendees paid just £10 for admission and the one wine tasting essential - a decent glass. We are looking forward to a gala dinner this evening featuring the highlights of the Austrian range paired with specially selected dishes devised by head chef Steve Horrell.

It's not to late to join in the fun as we will all be back here tomorrow between 11am and 4pm for more of the same and the weather promises to be much more clement. If that isn't incentive enough there are some artinisal Austrian cheeses and preserves to sample not to mention the Roth Bars' unparalleled modern art collection on which to feast your eyes.

All being well this should become an annual event so if you want to boast that you were here at the start do head over to Bruton tomorrow!
