Of course, all the wines that we care to ship to the UK are 100% Yapp-approved, but our own label bottlings come under added scrutiny – '110% guaranteed' in football manager-speak.
So, we held off bottling our Yapp red until this charming 2022 vintage became available and shipped it with the recently-bottled 2023 Yapp rosé. Added to the Yapp White, White Burgundy and Rhône Red, this makes for a versatile and excellent value mixed dozen.

Our 'house' white wine is a crisp, dry Sauvignon Blanc-based blend with around 35-40% Grenache Blanc to round it out and add body. It is bottled under screw-cap to conserve its youthful fruit and is intended to be enjoyable with or without food throughout the year.

This 'house' rosé completes our trio of reliable, bon marché own label wines under screwcap. This brick-pink blend of Grenache (approx. 70%) and Merlot is sufficiently refreshing to serve as an aperitif sur terrasse, yet robust enough to complement a wide range of dishes - shellfish, fish, charcuterie or goats' cheese.

Our 'house' red wine is made from pure Cabernet Sauvignon and, consequently, exhibits a mid-weight palate of cassis fruit over a background of ripe tannins - a classic table wine.

Ignore the 'ABC' ('Anything But Chardonnay') crowd, Chardonnay remains the King of white wine grapes, and Burgundy its spiritual heartland – think Puligny & Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault and Chablis. We've been on the hunt for an excellent example that delivers terrific rapport qualité-prix in spades and which merits bottling under our new Yapp 'regional' own-label range. This terrifically versatile mid-weight Grenache - Syrah blend derives from the 'département' of the Ardèche and is classified as Côtes du Rhône. Garnet in colour with a bouquet of cranberry and black cherry lifted by pomegranate and sandalwood, its rounded palate of forest fruit and peppery spice make it immensely easy-drinking.
