Two dry whites – a crisp, pure Sauvignon from the Charente and a weightier Southern Rhône blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Piquepoul – are complemented by the textured, coral-pink rosé from Domaine Les Filles de Septembre in the Languedoc.

The reds progress in depth, starting with the Vatan's juicy Pinot Noir from vines that border Sancerre, our supple, organic Chinon from the reliable Desbourdes dynasty and (new to us) a succulent, spicy red from the Vaucluse.

This mixed case is also available as all red or all white & rosé, and serves as our 'Sommelier Service' case. If you are looking for a regular delivery of seasonal wines fixed at the same price each month, you can explore the four different subscription options here.

This mixed case contains two bottles each of:

This mixed case includes

2 x Lirac: Domaine Maby 'La Fermade' Blanc 2023£0.00

The white wines of Lirac are deserving of wider recognition, and the Domaine Maby bottling is a is a fine example - a blend of Grenache Blanc (55%) and Clairette (25%) that is given some welcome freshness by Piquepoul (15%) and Ugni Blanc (5%). A wine that drinks well on its own, but is a shoo-in with seafood. Certified organic.

2 x Vin de Pays Charentais: Domaine Gardrat Sauvignon 2023£0.00

This Vin de Pays Charentais from Domaine Gardrat is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, delicately perfumed with subtle elderflower and nettle scents and a racy, mineral-edged palate. It's a lovely, light, uplifting wine that works well as an aperitif or partner to salads or seafood, whitebait or griddled squid in particular.

Certified as an organic wine.

2 x Côtes de Thongue: Domaine Les Filles de Septembre Rosé 2023£0.00

The Côtes de Thongue red is a Yapp bestseller, so we were delighted so discover that their coral-pink rosé wine ticks all the required boxes too - zesty, dry, refreshing and great value!

2 x IGP Val de Loire: Arielle Vatan 'La Roncière' Pinot Noir 2022£0.00

Domaine Vatan's Pinot Noir comes from a small one hectare plot of vines on the edge of Sancerre so is classified under the regional 'Loire Valley' (Val de Loire) appellation. Light-bodied and matured in stainless steel vats, this is a light and fruit-driven refreshing red that's all about its crisp cranberry and redcurrant fruit underlined by a touch of spice.

2 x Chinon: Francis et Françoise Desbourdes 'L'Arpenty' 2023£0.00

This delicious red Chinon wine is from pure Cabernet Franc. Packed full of youthful, berry fruit and was memorably described by Joanna Simon as being like 'liquid summer pudding'. It has supple tannins that lend it well to light chilling. In short it is a delicious and failsafe crowd-pleaser.

Certified as an organic wine.

2 x AOC Ventoux: Famille Cheron 'Terres Sauvages' 2022£0.00

Infamous for cylists across the globe as one of the hardest, steepest stages of the Tour de France, Mont Ventoux (1,909m) is visible from miles around. Also a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, it is rich in rare flora and fauna. This Ventoux rouge named 'Terres Sauvages' reflects its wild, dramatic terroir and is a blend of Grenache Noir and spicy, peppery Syrah that's ideal with tomato-based pasta dishes or grilled meats.
